Community and Enterprise / Community Development


 

Overview

The Community and Enterprise Office serves as the executive for the County Development Board and provides a range of other services under the broad areas of economic, social and cultural development. The Community and Enterprise Unit assists the community and voluntary sector to participate in the new Local Government structures and also promotes the services of the Council to the community. Through the County Development Board and the Strategy for Economic, Social and Cultural Development 2002-2012, the unit aims to co-ordinate the activities of all public agencies to ensure a more integrated delivery of services which meets the needs of it's citizens. The Board also works to combat poverty and promote social inclusion within the county.

Funding

The Community and Enterprise unit is funded under the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government
